Regal Cinemas at Destiny USA celebrated Taylor Swift’s “Official Release Party of a Showgirl” with pom poms and streamers on Oct. 3-5.

Taylor Swift fans flocked to Regal Cinema at Destiny USA to see The Official Release Party of a Showgirl, Taylor Swift’s premiere of her 12th studio album, The Life of a Showgirl, available for three nights only in theaters.

From October 3-5, fans had the opportunity to enjoy an exclusive early release of the music video for “The Fate of Ophelia,” with behind-the-scenes footage of how the video was made and new lyric videos from the album.

Celebrating yet another era, the Syracuse Swiftie community came together dressed up in their showgirl best to listen to the new songs together. Flashes went off on people’s cameras as fans posed in their attire, ready for the curtains to lift as they exchanged friendship bracelets, a staple tradition at Swift’s concerts.

The Eras Tour clock began counting down the seconds until showtime, making fans giddy. “The Fate of Ophelia” started the show, featuring high-production sets. One set showed Swift lying on a wooden table against a painted backdrop, a reference to the famous 19th-century “Ophelia” painting. The opalite necklaces and sparkling rhinestone bodysuits Swift wore in the music video were unmatched, even compared to her iconic Eras Tour outfits.

Swift intensely talked about the inspiration behind each of the new album’s tracks. When discussing “The Fate of Ophelia,” Swift reflected, “What if the hook is that he saved my heart from the fate of Ophelia?”

Swift said “Wi$h Li$t” conveys “different wishes people have for how they want their lives to be, how they want it to feel, how they want it to look,” and “Ruin the Friendship reminisces back on high school, and that “it’s very nostalgic.”

During a two-minute speech about the title track, “The Life of a Showgirl,” Swift dove into the song’s meaning, explaining that it narrates the story of a showgirl named Kitty who advises an aspiring performer against pursuing a career in the industry, highlighting its challenges and difficult lifestyle. At this, fans were intrigued and sat up in their seats. Swift said she featured popstar Sabrina Carpenter on the track because she’s one of her favorite artists and one of the few in the industry “equipped for this career.”

After “The Life of a Showgirl’s” lyric video, the music video for “The Fate of Ophelia” played once again, so audiences could rewatch it with fresh eyes after learning the artistry and process behind the video’s visual choices.

The film was well-received — fans cheered after every song and laughed at the clean lyrics of the album’s explicit tracks. It was a bubbly, friendly and community-filled theater experience.

Fans applauded, whooped and cheered on Swift for another remarkable album release. The audience left the release party brimming with excitement to continue listening to the newly released album, but this time with fresh perspectives on the songs and interpretations of the lyrics confirmed by the showgirl herself.
