Syracuse volleyball kicks off Invitational with stellar win against Siena University

Syracuse Volleyball (7-2, 0-0 ACC) opened the Syracuse Invitational on Friday hosting Siena University (3-7, 0-0 MAAC) at the Women’s building. The Orange broke a two game losing streak with a dominant 3-0 win against the Saints.
Junior standout Veronica Sierzant collected 10 kills on 12 attempts to go with two assists and two blocks for a season-high performance. The starter wasn’t alone in these accomplishments with teammate Gabby McLaughlin adding 14 kills on 29 attempts on offense.

The team had a .455 hitting average on the night making this outing its best in a single match this season. SU continues play in the Syracuse Invitational against St. John’s tomorrow at 6 PM in the Women’s Building.
