Concert-goers of all ages of Gen X, Y and Zers (and even a giggly fist-punching baby) lined Suburban Park at the New York State Fair to catch a glimpse of the long-running rock band, All Time Low.

The band had previously performed at the State Fair in 2018, but was now back with a much larger and louder crowd that only amplified their energetic performance.

The hundreds of fans that lined the grass were eager to sing along, something that was heavily encouraged by lead vocalist Alex Gaskarth. At times, he turned the microphone toward the audience, prompting them to “Sing along if you know the words!”

Throughout the 75-minute set, Gaskarth often cracked jokes with lead guitarist Jack Barakat, saying they visited the livestock building and got every audience member a baby cow to take home.

The band played a few songs off their new album Everyone’s Talking! as well as songs from their older albums So Wrong, It’s Right and Wake Up, Sunshine. The setlist served a balanced mix between their newer and older material, allowing fans from all eras to enjoy their favorite hits.

Gaskarth’s vocals were one of the high points of the show as he was easily able to range from more ballad acoustic songs such as “Missing You” to the impressive riffs featured in “Lost In Stereo”.

The band returned to the stage for an encore featuring their hit “Monsters.” It finished the night with 2007 debut single “Dear Maria, Count Me In,” during which the energy turned up to the max with hundreds of fans shouting along to every word.

The Syracuse show marked the beginning of the band’s Everyone’s Talking! tour that coincides with the band’s tenth studio album, coming out Oct. 17. If the rest of the tour is anything like the New York State Fair performance, it is sure to be full of top hits and infectious energy.
