Taking Back Sunday celebrates 20 years of ‘Louder Now’
Review: While it wasn’t a sold-out show, the energy at The Vine at Del Lago Resort & Casino felt like it was.
Taking Back Sunday “made damn sure” fans had a nostalgic time at Del Lego Resort & Casino on Saturday Night.
Celebrating 20 years of the critically acclaimed album, Louder Now, Taking Back Sunday opened their set with album classics “What’s It Feel Like To Be A Ghost,” and “Liar (It Takes One To Know One).”
A band with a storied discography, their set included 24 songs, including cult classic “Brooklyn “If You See Something, Say Something),” a song they hadn’t played live since 2010.
Although it wasn’t a sold-out show, the energy in the theater felt like it was. Everyone came together to be transported back to their angsty teenage years, when they screamed the words to “Cute Without the ‘E’ (Cut from the Team)” in the car on the way to class – or at least high school, for me.
Like every Taking Back Sunday concert, lead singer Adam Lazarra and the band were on the same frenzied frequency, sharing quick quips between songs and interacting with the crowd.
And, of course, a Taking Back Sunday show is incomplete without Lazzara’s famous microphone spinning and signature dance moves. Every song was met with cheers, and the crowd sang along to every word.
For one nostalgic evening, fans were exactly where they wanted to be. Taking Back Sunday will continue celebrating 20 years of Louder Now on tour with Bayside this summer before embarking on a fall headlining tour with Thrice and Saves The Day, including a stop in Buffalo on Sept. 29
